Riverland Rose and Garden Festival

About the Festival.

The event is an annual chance for the Riverland to come together, celebrate our beautiful region and showcase the area to the rest of South Australia and beyond. This year we have welcomed new committee members and friends of the festival, and each and every one of them has been instrumental in organising this year’s event.

A number of our regular, popular components are going ahead this year including the open gardens, the Waikerie Flower Show, The Pines Festival and display at Loxton, Festival Fair and Renmark Institute display. Thank you to all of our gardeners. We encourage people to visit the gardens outlined in the program. We promise you won’t be disappointed, with gardeners from across the Riverland generously offering to showcase their wonderful gardens. The passion and love for all things gardening will be obvious when you take the opportunity to meander through these gorgeous properties.

We welcome Mallee Estate as our festival opening night host, with an incredible five-course degustation event set to please all visitors. This year’s festival coincides with the 2022 World Federation of Rose Societies World Rose Convention, held in Adelaide from October 27 to November 3. We look forward to welcoming the president of the World Federation of Rose Societies, Henrianne de Briey, to the opening night dinner and to officially open the Riverland Rose and Garden Festival at the annual Festival Fair on Saturday, October 15.

For the first time in the festival’s history, the gala dinner will be held outside of the Renmark district. We are pleased to welcome Salena Estate and Cucina 837 as our host for the popular dinner event and look forward to celebrating this year’s successes in style. We would like to thank all of our wonderful sponsors, committee members, committee guests, Renmark Paringa Council, Berri Barmera Council, District Council of Loxton Waikerie, Neutrog Australia Pty Ltd, Pete’s Soils, the South Australian Tourism Commission, and everyone that has made putting this event on

The Past Festivals

Each year the Rose Festival Committee is committed to looking at new and exciting initiatives to complement the existing festival’s events and activities. The festival has a constantly changing array of open gardens to enjoy, spread out over numerous towns throughout the Riverland. With this in mind, we hope to keep the Renmark Rose Festival as fresh and vibrant as our wonderful roses.

The Riverland’s township’s rose gardens provide a spectacular backdrop throughout the festival and are immaculately presented.

The Renmark Riverland Rose Festival celebrates the region and its communities.  It’s an opportunity to showcase the region’s produce, enjoy our spectacular weather and experience the beauty of the magnificent River Murray. Be welcomed by our diverse, multicultural community and experience our friendly and accommodating hospitality.

Whether you are a Riverland local or a visitor, we invite you to come and enjoy our Festival.

Despite of all the COVID restrictions, 2020 Renmark Riverland Rose Festival was a great success and bagged a “Community Event of the year 2021” Award on 26 Jan 2021, Australia Day.  In 2021, the Renmark Riverland Rose Festival has been rebranded as “Riverland Rose and Garden Festival” to include other towns and show what the whole region has to offer. This year will celebrate its 27th year as one of the region’s largest and most supported festivals. Since its humble beginnings in 1994, the rose festival has evolved into a major event, however this year, a 10-day event will be from October 15 to 24, 2021 will be modified.
