In 2019, the Renmark Rose Festival will celebrate its 25th year as one of the region’s largest and most supported festivals. Since its humble beginnings in 1994, the rose festival has evolved into a major event and today runs for 10 days, spans towns across the Riverland and provides a range of events and attractions.
Each year the Rose Festival Committee is committed to looking at new and exciting initiatives to complement the existing festival’s events and activities. The festival has a constantly changing array of open gardens to enjoy, spread out over numerous towns throughout the Riverland. With this in mind, we hope to keep the Renmark Rose Festival as fresh and vibrant as our wonderful roses.
The Renmark township’s rose gardens provide a spectacular backdrop throughout the 10 days and are immaculately presented thanks to the Renmark Paringa Council. There are 51 garden beds consisting of in excess of 3,500 rose bushes spread throughout the town and it is well worth taking a walking tour to discover them.
The Renmark Rose Festival is a celebration of the region and its communities. It’s an opportunity to showcase the regions produce, enjoy our spectacular weather and experience the beauty of the magnificent River Murray. Be welcomed by our diverse multicultural community and experience our friendly and accommodating hospitality.
Whether you are a Riverland local, a visitor from within South Australia, one of our many interstate visitors, or even visiting from overseas, we invite you to come and enjoy our Festival.
Our Institute floral display theme is yet to be decided for 2019.
2018, was a special year for the festival, with the floral display theme: a tribute to David Ruston.
David Ruston is a prominent figure in the Riverland community, both he and his father inspired the idea for the Renmark Rose Festival. Roses have always been David’s great passion which has seen him achieve world recognition as an expert on roses and a talented flower arranger.
The annual Renmark Rose Festival Floral Display is hosted at the Renmark Institute – Ral Ral Avenue, Renmark, for the first three days of the festival only.
