If you're a rose or garden lover you will thoroughly enjoy a visit to Renmark in October for their annual week long Rose Festival.

The festival is full of activities, displays and demonstrations that will enthuse and delight those who appreciate natures' beauty.

The highlight of the festival is a display of flower arrangements featuring the rose. The theme for the 2008 event is 'Produce of the Riverland'. The display is held in the Town Institute at the end of Rose Week.

Renmark is also the home of Ruston's Rose Garden which houses the National Rose Collection and has 27 acres planted out to roses and ornamentals. After wandering through their rose gardens you can relax and enjoy a cuppa at the David Ruston Visitor Centre which is incorporated within the complex. Many local private gardens are open during the week.

Included in the festival are river trips, Art Galleries and displays, Greek Taverna, Historic Homestead and displays, Fun Run, town and garden walks, Steaming on the PS Industry, flower arranging, demonstration/luncheon and talks by David Ruston, as well as the ever popular "Candlelit Suppers' overlooking the lagoon at 'Jane Eliza' Estate.

The local plant nurseries often include talks and demonstrations and the McCormick Environmental Centre holds an informative display on the Murray Darling System, a minature wetland and during Rose week free films on complementary topics.
